Aldo Leopold Legacy Center SIP Project Profile
Legacy Center - (Baraboo, WI)
The Aldo Leopold Legacy Center has received Platinum LEED® Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Following a rigorous assessment, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program awarded the Legacy Center 61 points of 69 possible points, more than any other building yet rated in the world. R-Control SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) were selected in the design of the building. R-Control SIPs provide an energy efficient wall system, reduce air leakage, and help control and lower heating and cooling costs. They also provide superior strength and design flexibility.
R-Control SIPs not only provide a strong structural system that resist loads caused by wind, but they are also environmentally friendly. The structural skins of R-Control Structural Insulated Panels are made from renewable wood resources, and the Foam-Control EPS with Perform Guard core is termite resistant and contains no CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, or formaldehyde. For year and years, this R-Control structure will save fuel used for heating and cooling and reduce carbon emission pollutants.
